Now much studied and discussed in Australian theatre circles, Falling Petals create a minor storm in 2003, having won the Wal Cherry Play of the Year in 2002, as well as New York’s New Dramatists Award before its première. It went on to be performed not only in Melbourne, but Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, with international productions in New Zealand and the USA.
Jonathan Marshall’s review in RealTime pretty much sums up the initial responses to the play.
